Hello, and welcome to my blog.
“And then there is the most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.” - Randy Komisar
Red Bird Safari is the personal journal of an introverted traveller with a bad case of "Peter Pan Syndrome" and chronic heliophilia. Solar powered and with restless feet I am currently travelling the world in search of adventure, sunshine and delicious food.
I travel to feel alive. The modern day world is overcomplicated and full of stress and it's so easy to fall into routine and let the days run away on us. We live in a culture that focuses so heavily on later that we forget to savour today. Instead of wishing away my days and waiting for Friday, or the holidays, I decided to step out of the rat race for a little while and go searching for adventure, to push my limits, get out of my comfort zone and face my fears (there are many). I've quickly come to realise that a day when you don't experience elation, or the need to pinch yourself, is a day wasted.
My name is Hannah and I'm a Melbourne based kiwi who loves travel, cooking, eating, beaching, yoga/pilates/barre, drawing, writing and languages, in no particular order. This blog is a place to share my travel experiences, some of the logistics of my trips for fellow travellers, as well as recipes and other musings from along the way for those who are interested.
Thanks for stopping by the blog, I hope it can inspire you to visit somewhere new soon!
